Modelling Risk Software
I-Maps
is a South African product and was developed by Dr Reg Bust (PhD
Maths Stats UCT) in 1995. It
is been used by some of the largest Asset Managers in South Africa
since 1997.
I-Maps are revolutionary
new graphic representation of the investment environment, showing
inter-relationships of investment variables,
portfolio’s, performance and risk. I-Maps illustrate, publicly,
the intuitive mental pictures that portfolio managers build up
through years of experience. The positions of the points on an
I-Map are derived from the historical behaviour of the investment
variables. The I-Maps system also has a powerful “What-If” facility
for seeing the effects of proposed trades on the position of a
portfolio, assisting in moving the portfolio to a more optimal
position.
